Events & Management Plus Inc. (EM+) is thrilled to share an exciting client achievement that has now reached a global scale— official approval of a position statement by the World Health Organization (WHO).

EM+ Senior Manager, Heather Dow, Executive Director, represents the Canadian Spinal Cord Injury Rehabilitation Alliance (CSCI-RA) and the Canadian Association Neuro-Orthopedics for Spasticity Consortium (CANOSC) on the World Rehabilitation Alliance (WRA) Workforce Workstream Committee. Heather also serves as Co-Chair of the Position Statement Subgroup Committee, alongside Peter M. Cassidy, Vice-President of Atrium Health.

The WRA Workforce Workstream is dedicated to inspiring and enabling diverse rehabilitation stakeholders—including service users, healthcare professionals, and government bodies—to collaborate effectively. Their objectives include:

• Communicating the multidisciplinary nature of the rehabilitation workforce and their valuable contributions to optimal health outcomes.
• Driving investment in quality rehabilitation education and training.
• Expanding the integration of the rehabilitation workforce into all levels of care and practice settings.

The committee focused specifically on the second objective: advancing global investment in rehabilitation education and training. Over the past two years, they have led a team of over 30 experts, to craft a comprehensive, globally relevant position statement.

After extensive collaboration and dedication, the position statement has been officially approved by the WHO and is published on the WHO website. This achievement reinforces the critical role of rehabilitation education and training in strengthening healthcare systems worldwide.
