We are pleased to announce Heather Dow, Senior Manager, has been awarded the ISPRM Individual Honorary Membership Award.
This award has only been given out 4 times since 2001 and is awarded to someone who has “made outstanding contributions to the management and care of people with impairments and disabilities.”
Heather has been dedicated to the growth and success of the Canadian Association of Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation (CAPMR) since becoming our executive director in 2014. Over the past decade, she has guided CAPM&R to become a leader in providing educational content to a wide audience nationally and internationally, elevated the reputation and profile of CAPM&R on the international stage, and transformed our organization into one that has a strong foundation to advocate and educate for improved care and outcomes for individuals living with disabilities.
This is a remarkable achievement, and we are very proud. Congratulations, Heather!
Below is a picture of Heather receiving her award at the 18th World Congress of the International Society of Physical and Rehabilitation Medicine (ISPRM) in Sydney, Australia on June 4th, 2024.
